MB units are double be system where the feed water is demin water while the treated outlet quality is very pure
(conductivity < 0.1 microsiemens / cm ) [/su_spoiler] [su_spoiler title="Condensate Polishers" open="no" icon="plus"] These are essentially are mixed bed units which are used for purifying return condensate from boiler. This operation is carried out at a higher temperature. [/su_spoiler] [su_spoiler title="Ultra Filtration" open="no" icon="plus"] Ultra filter (UF) is a pressure driven on tangential membrane flux process and the impetus is pressure difference. This process removes certain soluble organic modules, suspended and colloidal matter from aqueous medium like water. UF membranes typically have pore sizes in the range of 0.01 - 0.10 µm and have a high removal capability for bacteria and most viruses, colloids and silt (SDI). The smaller the nominal pore size, the higher the removal capability. [/su_spoiler] [su_spoiler title="Reverse Osmosis" open="no" icon="plus"] Reverse osmosis (RO) is the process of forcing a solvent from a region of high solute concentration through a membrane to a region of low solute concentration by applying a pressure in excess of the osmotic pressure This is the reverse of the normal osmosis process, which is the natural movement of solvent from an area of low solute concentration, through a membrane, to an area of high solute concentration when no external pressure is applied. The membrane here is semi permeable, meaning it allows the passage of solvent but not of solute. At Southern Chemicals we have pioneered RO technology in Indonesia having introduced it by early 1980’s. We have developed 3 separate series and today are experimenting with alternative power sources to achieve further efficiency and cost reductions. [/su_spoiler]
